Puppy 1-2-1 Training

My Approach Getting a new puppy is an exciting time for all the family! Being well-prepared for your puppy’s arrival and knowing what to expect is vital to helping them have the best start to their life with you.
 
The early months of a puppy’s life is an important learning time for them when they need positive introductions to things they will encounter throughout their life. A confident, appropriately socialised (to people, dogs and everyday things) and positively trained puppy is one that will develop into a balanced dog who is able to cope with our modern world.


 
I will also share with you how you and your family can have the best fun with your puppy both through play and through mental enrichment.
 
The Puppy Consultation which lasts 60-75 minutes is not intended to replace the need for your puppy to have ongoing training. Instead it acts as the foundation session to discuss normal puppy behaviours, how to meet your puppy's specific needs (which can vary from breed to breed), how to help your puppy grow up to be confident and happy, and to discuss what training help you would like based on your existing knowledge and lifestyle.

Follow-on Training Sessions are then tailored for you and your puppy's needs and include practical training, handy tips as well as answering any questions that may have arisen since we last met.
 
Whilst I believe there is always a place for well-organised, traditional style puppy training classes, all of my services are provided on a 1-2-1 basis. By concentrating just on you and your puppy during the Session, I can achieve much more in each session and specifically address the issues that you are having most problems with.
Puppy Consultation – What’s Included?My Puppy Consultation is designed for owners of puppies. Here’s what to expect:
  1. Discovery Call
    Free 15 minute pre-consultation call
  2. Puppy History
    You'll complete a Training Consultation Form to enable me to understand more about your puppy, their learning history (if any) and key details to help me tailor the training sessions for you both.
  3. CONSULTATION
    (In person where possible or by Zoom) - a 60-75 minute Consultation designed to cover puppy essentials for living harmoniously together and discuss your particular training requirements. If time permits, we can also start training!
Additional Puppy Training SessionsFollow-up 60 minute 1-2-1 Puppy Training Sessions (for dogs up to 8 months old at the time of booking).If I need to travel more than 5 miles (each way) from my home for any Session, then an additional Travel Charge will apply.

Adult Dog Training
My 1-2-1 training support is designed to help owners of adolescent and adult dogs with specific training needs, for example pulling on the lead or jumping up at visitors.

Rescue dogs sometimes need extra help when settling into a new home and my kind, simple techniques will enable them to learn in a positive, fun way.

When a dog has behavioural problems such as anxiety or reactivity, it can cause a huge pressure on day-to-day life and take the enjoyment out of life with your dog.

My 1-2-1 behavioural support is tailored to what has triggered the behaviour in your dog and uses positive and rewarding methods to help rehabilitate them in the long-term and restore calm in your relationship.
